Connect Now!

The Army Corps of Engineers has extended the record for comments about the cross county connector until September 15, 2008.
As a member of the business community, please take a moment to participate in this call to action.
If the Corps decides to require another environmental study the completion of this important road could be delayed for another 2-3 years!!!!

Subject: Build It Now!
Dear [decision maker name automatically inserted here],
I am writing to you in support of building the cross county connector NOW! The CCC will provide Southern Maryland commuters a safer and less expensive link between Bryans Road and Waldorf than the existing Billingsley Road.
The completion of this road is being held hostage by a loud group of no-growth advocates who are using the regulatory process to delay progress. To require an environmental impact statement will only further delay the project and cost taxpayers another $350,000 in unnecessary studies.
Enough studies! The County has already redesigned the CCC to reduce its impact on wetlands by 46%. The County is committed to building a state-of-the-art transportation link that will provide relief to traffic congestion and a greater measure of safety using the most environmentally friendly methods available today.
Please approve the wetlands permit without an unnecessary environmental impact statement so we can move forward. We need this road and we need it now!
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
