Join your REALTOR® colleagues at a special general membership meeting on Tuesday, July 17th at SMAR Headquarters beginning at 9:30 a.m. We have invited Gene Burner, former Director of the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation to come speak to our members about the impending fiscal crisis facing Maryland and an overview of the tax increase package that is LIKELY to be deliberated at a special legislative session this fall.

Computer Drive
Have you updated your computer equipment but still hanging onto the old stuff?
Now through July 27th SMAR's Community Relations & C.A.R.E. Award Committee is sponsoring a "Computer Drive" to help a local non-profit organization collect old computers and peripherals.
SMARTCO (Southern Maryland Applied Research and Technology Consortium) collects old computers, printers, monitors, etc., refurbishes them to be placed, free of charge, in public and private parochial schools, local government agencies and qualified non-profit organizations located primarily within the Southern Maryland region.
Drop Off Location: ALL computers and accessories are welcome! Donations can be brought to the REALTOR® Center, 8440 Leonardtown Rd, Hughesville, MD 20637 during normal business hours, Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 5 pm. There is a storage container located in the parking lot behind the REALTOR® Center where you can drop off your donations.

SentriLock Upgrade
SentriLock is releasing an upgraded version of the software that resides in our REALTOR® Lockboxes, giving you two important new features. The upgraded software is offered free of charge to all members and enhances the One Day Codes feature, as well as improves the showing feedback system. With the new upgrade, you will be able to make each One Day Code expire a preset amount of time after it is first used, thus giving you greater control over One Day Code usage. The improved showing feedback feature implements a new method of collecting access log information from your lockboxes. This new feature will help reduce the amount of time between a showing occurring and the data being available in the website reports.
SentriLock has also identified an issue with a small percentage of REALTOR® Lockboxes that typically result in premature battery depletion. The upgraded version of the software also eliminates this problem.
The upgrade procedure takes less than one minute per lockbox, and the only tool you need is your SentriCard, so we encourage you to perform the upgrade on each of your lockboxes as soon as it's convenient for you to do so.

Lockbox Firmware Upgrade Instructions
DO NOT PULL OUT THE SENTRICARD UNTIL ALL STEPS ARE COMPLETE!
1. First you must start out by renewing your SentriCard. (Note: The renewal time takes 2 to 3 minutes when the upgrade program is downloaded onto your SentriCard, so you'll probably notice a longer renewal time when this occurs.)
2. Prepare the lockbox for the upgrade. (If the lockbox is already on a listing, please remove the shackle and take the keys out of the key compartment.)
3. Insert your SentriCard into the lockbox. The lockbox should make a double beep. When the CODE light illuminates enter your PIN + ENT. The READY light should illuminate.
4. Upgrade the lockbox firmware. Press FUNC + FUNC + 37265 + FUNC + ENT. The CARD light will blink while the lockbox firmware is upgrading.
5. Wait for the upgrade to complete. After approximately 30 seconds, the lockbox will beep and then flash the status lights. When all lights turn off, the upgrade is complete. You may then remove your card, once this final step is complete.
If it has been more than 5 seconds since you've seen any lights blinking, REMOVE YOUR CARD. If the lockbox was already on a listing prior to the upgrade, re-insert your card and login to your lockbox by entering your PIN + ENT. To put the lockbox back on the listing, complete the FUNC 1, FUNC 2, FUNC 3 sequence that you normally perform when putting a lockbox on a property.
OPTIONAL: If you would like to verify that the firmware was successfully upgraded, remove your SentriCard and re-insert it into the lockbox. When the CODE light illuminates, enter your PIN + ENT. When the READY light illuminates, press FUNC + FUNC + 43752 + FUNC + ENT. A series of 4 beeps indicates the lockbox was successfully upgraded.
