2007 C.A.R.E. Award Application

(Community Action and REALTOR® Excellence)

Are you involved in community service or charitable events - either company wide or as an individual?  Then SMAR wants to know! 

Annually the C.A.R.E. Award is given by the Maryland Association of REALTORS® to Local Boards/Associations to recognize achievements in community service and charitable actions.  Because of your involvement in the community SMAR won 1st Place last year and received $10,000 that was distributed to four local Southern Maryland Charities.  This year's cash prizes to the Charity of Choice are as follows:

First Place - $10,000;
1st Honorable Mention - $5,000;
2nd Honorable mention - $1,000.

You can help SMAR win again this year by completing the 2007 C.A.R.E. Award Application and faxing it to 301-870-2575 by June 17th.  Who knew that the volunteer work you do now can help even more charities in the future?  So if you have been involved in community service or charitable actions please click here to download the application form.

 Computer Drive - Now - July 27!

Donate your old computers and peripherals to help others in the Southern Maryland Area

Now through July 27th SMAR's Community Relations & C.A.R.E. Award Committee is sponsoring a "Computer Drive" to help a local non-profit organization collect old computers and peripherals.  SMARTCO (Southern Maryland Applied Research and Technology Consortium) collects old computers, printers, monitors, etc., refurbishes them to be placed, free of charge, in public and private parochial schools, local government agencies and qualified non-profit organizations located primarily within the Southern Maryland region. 

In addition to refurbishing old computers and peripherals SMARTCO, an all-volunteer organization, is dedicated to providing computer literacy training for individuals who are economically deprived and are from the underserved population within our community. 

ALL computers and accessories are welcome!  Donations can be brought to the REALTOR® Center, 8440 Leonardtown Rd, Hughesville, MD  20637 during normal business hours, Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 5 pm.  There is a storage container located in the parking lot behind the REALTOR® Center where you can drop off your donations.
