A Message from 2008-2009 SMAR President Russ Boyce
?Greetings Southern Maryland Association of REALTORS...
I hope this email finds you engaged and excelling in our Spring market. I have two (2) important messages I wanted to share with you so I asked our Leadership to broadcast the message to all of the Southern Maryland Association of REALTORS.
MAR Leadership Academy - The Maryland Association of REALTORS has an outstanding program that I have the honor of being Chair this year ... MAR Leadership Academy Advisory Group. In the past the Leadership Academy has been primarily open to agents that aspire to move into a Leadership position either on the local or state level. I want to extend a personal invitation to all of my associates here in Southern Maryland to consider applying for the Academy this year. There is an interview process that occurs later in the summer. We usually have over 30 applications and have to select 20 to attend the academy. There are 8 classes that begin in October and run till April. Usually averages one class a month.

Candidate for 2012 MAR Secretary -
I am pleased to inform you that I am running for 2012 Secretary, Maryland Association of REALTORS. It has been 20 years since anyone from Southern Maryland has moved into a Leadership position on the state level. I hope I can count on your support and change that statistic. The final decision from the MAR Nomination Committee will be late July.
It is a pleasure and honor to still serve you through the Southern Maryland Association of REALTORS and in Annapolis at the Maryland Association of REALTORS.
Make it an excellent Spring & Summer.
With gratitude,
Russ Boyce

RE; GREAT PRICE FOR MARYLAND INDEPENDENT AD
In a continued effort by SMAR to raise public awareness of REALTORS in Southern Maryland, arrangements have been made with the Maryland Independent to provide a fantastic advertising opportunity.
The paper is offering business card size space to individual REALTORS on a full page ad in the A section of the paper. The ad will run in the Wednesday edition (approx. 26,000 circulation).
REALTORS are expected to commit to 4 weeks of advertising at $50/week or $200 and will be part of the full page “border” that surrounds a public awareness announcement provided through the NAR Public Awareness Campaign which the Committee will provide to the paper.
The spaces will be reserved on a first come, first served basis to start immediately.
Please contact Kim Minopoli at Maryland Independent Advertising 301-764-2812 or Kminopoli@somdnews.com today indicating your interest in taking advantage of this great opportunity to support your own business and raise public awareness of our REALTOR community.
