Calling ALL* Volunteers!
Did you know your charity work could lead to MORE MONEY for local charities?
(* REALTORS® AND AFFILIATES!)
2011 C.A.R.E. AWARD APPLICATION
(Community Action and REALTOR® Excellence)
Deadline – Friday, June 17, 2011
The C.A.R.E. Award is given annually by the Maryland Association of REALTORS® to Local Boards/Associations to recognize achievements by REALTORS® and Affiliate members in community service and charitable actions. The award is designed to raise the profile of REALTORS® and Affiliates, to recognize the contributions REALTORS® and Affiliates make in their communities in terms of volunteer hours and money raised, and to offset the perception that REALTORS® and Affiliates are only concerned with their business transactions.
Please tell us what you do, whether as individuals, groups, teams or office wide. Keep in mind that your volunteer work does NOT have to be real estate related - don’t forget about participation with military groups, church drives, and/or hurricane relief efforts, etc.... You are strongly encouraged to include photos, testimonials, and any other supportive information that would further enhance your submission.
Prize: The award winning Boards/Associations will receive a cash prize to the charity of their choice, and be recognized at the Installation Banquet at the MAR Annual conference. The monetary awards: First Place - $10,000; 1st Place Recognition - $5,000; 2nd Place Recognition - $1,000.
SMAR has won this prestigious award in 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007. It's our turn again! Let's show the state that Southern Maryland CARES! Send in your applications NOW!
Advertising Opportunity for SMAR Members!
In a continued effort by SMAR to raise public awareness of REALTORS® in Southern Maryland, the Public Awareness Committee has worked with the County Times Newspaper to provide you with a fantastic advertising opportunity.
The paper is offering business card size space to individual REALTORS®. The ad will run every other Thursday for the months of June, July and August (approx. 22,000 circulation each issue).
REALTORS® are expected to commit to 6 weeks of advertising at $50/issue ($300 total) and will be part of a Full Back Page, highly visible to the public. The ads will form a border that surrounds a "Home Ownership Matters" public awareness announcement provided by NAR through the Committee to the paper.
The spaces will be reserved on a first come, first served basis to start with the June 9 issue.
Please contact Matt Suite, 301-399-6417, mattsuite@countytimes.net; or Gary Dean, 301-751-4810, garydean@countytimes.net today indicating your interest in taking advantage of this great opportunity to support your own business and raise public awareness of our REALTOR® community.
