SMAR
Membership Survey Winner Announced
Congratulations to Mike Cook, Long & Foster Real Estate, Solomons,
Maryland, who just won a $100.00 gasoline card for being one of the SMAR members
who responded to our recent survey. Mike's name was randomly chosen from among
those who responded. The response rate to our survey was very good and
indicated that 83% of the members presently believe the value of membership in
the Association is Excellent/Good, with only 1% giving a rating of Poor
value.
One
Day and Contractor Codes
Be very
cautious when issuing a one-day code or contractor code. These codes are
essentially "keys to the house." Verify the contact information provided by the
party requesting the code is correct.
Ensure
that the party requesting the code is who he or she claims to be. Take a number
and call them back. Call the office and verify that the person works there.
Remind the recipient that the code is for their own use and is not to be given
or loaned to anyone else. Misuse of these codes is a serious violation of your
fiduciary responsibility to the homeowner and could endanger the homeowner, the
property and its contents as well as other people.
