SentriLock SmartCard Authorization Renewal
  
**The SentriLock SmartCard renewal period has been extended from every three (3) days to every seven (7) days - effective immediately.**

 In early July, the Board of Director's received requests from a number of members asking for the SentriLock SmartCard renewal period to be extended from the three (3) day renewal to a longer renewal period. 

 After careful consideration of the request and review of the renewal periods of the other local REALTOR® Associations in Maryland that have converted to SentriLock, the SMAR Board of Directors agreed to extend the SentriLock SmartCard renewal period to every seven (7) days.   

 It is important to remember that renewing the SmartCard does more than make it available to open lock boxes.  Showing activity stored on the card is also sent to listing agents during card renewal.  Waiting the full seven-day period before renewing the card, delays the availability of valuable information.  Renewing the card more frequently is highly recommended to ensure the full benefits of the system are available to all participants.
